FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?
    No. In order to provide the best concierge level service Janet does not take insurance. She can provide a super bill which allows most PPO’s to provide at least partial reimbursement, once the deductible has been met.
  • How do I submit the super bill to my insurance?
    The super bill is emailed to you and then you attach it to your insurance claim form that can be completed on the computer and emailed to your insurance provider.
  • Do you use a sliding scale for client payments?
    No. In extremely rare instances, Janet is able to come down on price if the circumstances are evaluated and a lower rate can be discussed.
  • What can we expect with couples counseling?
    A neutral problem solving approach is used to find ways to improve communication and increase understanding of one another. Tools for better communication and less friction increase the level of satisfaction and closeness for the couple.
  • Do you treat children?
    Yes, from ages 10 and older. Younger children benefit from a play therapist
  • Do you do family therapy?
    Yes, Janet begins with the parents and then invites the family into the sessions.
  • Why are people more anxious these days?
    The increase in social media and information that promotes fear or worry has definitely had an impact on people of all ages.
  • How do you treat anxiety?
    There are underlying causes for anxiety and worry that can be replaced with understanding, faith, and courage. Some of the symptoms of anxiety are biologically based, some are learned behaviors. At times, there is a need to refer for medication.
  • How does positive psychology work?
    The basis of positive psychology is to replace negative thinking with positive thinking. Increasing the awareness of the power of our thoughts along with increasing our gratitude can create a life of more positivity.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    No-show and Cancellation Policy: Your visit has been reserved for you. 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $100.
